kite rider

As we played outside Friday after school Jennifer had a great idea. She combined two of the things she has been loving lately. Riding her bike with flying her kite. It sounds crazy, I know but for a short time it worked. Jennifer had been riding her bike and then decided to fly her kite for a while. In the middle of flying her kite she wrapped the string around her bike handle bars and away she went! Out of the blue, with no promoting from us, it was rather funny. The first time it worked and worked well, of course after I got my camera, it didn't work as well.

Hard to see but if you look above the mail box you can ever so slightly see the kite flying behind Jennifer and her bike. Jennifer became known as "Kite Rider" for the rest of the day.

After some trouble Jennifer needed her dad for a little help. The two worked hard but eventually the kite sting broke and that was the end of that made-up crazy activity. What a great dad too, running behind Jennifer holding up the kite!

All the while Mikayla was just hanging out watching the craziness that is her sister and dad. She was hamming it up for me though. She does make me smile!

Hard to see but this is a sweet picture to me. Mikayla holding onto her daddy's hand walking across the street. I must admit I love to watch Kayla walk.

After kite rider hung up her wheels and string Mikayla needed to get a little swinging in.

There is never a dull moment with these three around! Love them all!

It has been a while yes, I know. I will admit I have been neglecting our blog. Why you may ask? Well, I have no answer, I just have been. We are still here! Keeping busy as usual. Here are a few pictures of what has been happening in our lives over the past month.

Spring is here, well some days more than others. But my girls are determined to be outside. Jennifer wants to ride her bike all the time and Mikayla is always signing slide or swing and pointing outside. When we do get outside it is a fight to get them both back in. You are probably thinking it is Jennifer that gives the biggest fight, you would be wrong, it is miss Mikayla, that girl has got some sass going on!

This was the scene at our house a few Saturdays ago. Jennifer had a bright idea to put on her swimming suit and of course her dad, yes her dad, gave in and let her put it on. Of course it didn't take long for Mikayla to think she needed hers on as well. And notice Jennifer sporting some sweet boots along with her swimming suit. She was fairly certain she was going somewhere at the time, which is why she has a coat on as well. We sure do have a fashion diva on our hands, this girl is going to be setting fashion trends someday (or maybe not)!

If I had to put a caption on this photo it would say, "Can you believe dad let us do this?! Man do we have him wrapped around our little fingers!" And it is true, they really do!

Last weekend was prom so we were off to the Grand March to see some of our friends. I should note, the girls and I went to see our friends, Bill went fishing on the river. Of course Jennifer love, loved it! She could not get enough of the dresses. The girls got their pictures taken with some high school friends that we know (who wanted their picture taken with her). But then she just started jumping in pictures of people who did not ask for her to have her picture taken with them! The pretty dresses and all the cameras, she was on overload! She thought everyone wanted her in their pictures!

She would have gladly gone to prom with the people in both of these pictures. Some of her favorite ever! When the "march" got over a girl from our church told Jennifer she had to go to a dance (Jennifer had sat on her lap most of the time, because she had on a pretty dress!) Oh I had to laugh, not the best choice of words for Jennifer. She would have gladly gone to a dance and danced the night away! When we got back to the van she talked to me the whole way home about going to prom, she came up with a great plan!

Life is going to be crazy around our house the next few weeks but I will try (try being the key word there) to not be so long before posting pictures again!
