We pulled out of our driveway late Wednesday evening and drove through the night, for those of you groaning at that it is not that bad, not always fun but we make it work and really our girls are great travelers! We stopped Thursday afternoon at a hotel and after just being there about twenty minutes Mikayla fell off the bed and scrapped up her nose. Nice start of the vacation. Poor sister friend.
Jennifer is in love with dolphins right now. So we went to see some dolphins. I believe there were 13 dolphins there and Jennifer thought each one was named Flipper. Very fun to watch them and to watch Jennifer's face. In this picture a dolphin just swam by and splashed water over the side getting Jennifer wet. She of course thought that was great!
How cute is this picture?! Watching the dolphins together. One of my favorite pictures from our trip.
We spent most of our time at the beach, playing in the sand and the water. Mikayla loved playing in the sand and Jennifer loved the water. Although after being taken out by a wave she had to regain her confidence but after a little time she was back at it.
Our girls love being buried in the sand. Jennifer was first and of course thinks it is too funny.
Mikayla, not to be outdone by her sister, wanted to be buried as well. She could not get enough of it! If someone even began digging a hole Mikayla would find her way in and start patting herself, wanting to be buried.
One of my favorite things about this trip was just watching Mikayla. It sounds weird yes I know. But just in the past month Mikayla has decided that maybe, just maybe, walking is a good thing and a good thing to do all the time. Just in the past weeks she has been walking really well, everywhere, all the time. We have waited a long time to be able to watch her walk. So it brought me great joy to watch her hop up on the sand and started walking around, she would walk into the water and then turn around and walk back to the toys. She wanted to walk in the road at Grammies, partly because Jennifer was riding her bike in the road. She didn't want help walking, she just wanted to walk. I loved it! This girl is a pretty cute walker I must admit.
