busy weekend

Saturday morning we were up bright and early to start our weekend. This weekend was sort of all about fun for Jennifer. Poor Mikayla had to spend two days being loved on by her grammie as well as her mama and papa (some how I don't think she really missed the fun we were having too much).
After dropping Mikayla off we were off to Adventureland! Grandma and Grandpa McLeland treated all the grand kids (minus Mikayla) and parents to a fun filled day. We rode lots of rides, visited the water park, ate some yummy (not so good for you) food, had a picnic and had lots of fun together! Jennifer taking a little break after the water park to enjoy some popcorn. This girl was exhausted at the end of the day!Jennifer and grandpa on the train at the end of the day. The train is grandpa's favorite ride and I must admit Jennifer was pretty excited about it too!The exhausted kids as we were leaving the park after a long day. I think they were all a little loopy at this point! Sunday afternoon brought another exciting trip. We took Jennifer to her first movie! In case you did not know Jennifer is big Toy Story fan so we thought it was only fitting to let her first movie theater experience be the new Toy Story movie. I think I was more excited for her than she was. She was of course very excited that we got popcorn and she was very excited to see all her favorite characters in the new Toy Story.

Monday morning after seeing the new Toy Story Jennifer wanted to wear her Jessie boots and hat, don't they look great with her pj's?!

What a great weekend! Thanks for grandma and grandpa McLeland for a fun time at Adventureland (and to Kris, Jay, Cole, Logan, Chase and Sydney)! And also thanks to the rest of the grandparents for watching Mikayla so we could take Jen to everything!

swimming fun

While on vacation we decided to venture to a swimming pool. We were unable to play in the sand and the beach because of some nasty bugs so we had to settle for a swimming pool! It was a fun afternoon for everyone. Jennifer is becoming quiet the water girl, which is very fun. She loves jumping in, over and over and thought it was fun to float with her life jacket on.

There was a little slide for the kids to go down on their own. Jen took many rides down this little slide.

Mikayla thought the water was fun too! She thought it was fun to just sit and splash though.

Oh there she is!

Mikayla had so much fun that during one of the breaks she fell asleep. It was pretty sweet.

more vaca fun

I just love this picture of Mikayla. Cousin Ben was loving on her right before I took this picture, she was loving it!We decided to get the kids out of the cabin for the morning and have a little fun! They all thought driving the power wheels was great! None of them were great drivers but they had a great time. Of course there were a few tears when the time came for them to get off. The bigger boys wanted to ride the go-carts and this year Jen was big enough to ride along. So her and I rode together. She thought it was great!
Of course when we were done Jen thought she should get a turn to drive too. Mikayla was of course too young to enjoy any of the activities but she sat in her stroller and watched everyone and she seemed pretty content with that.

Bill pretty much lives for fishing on vacation. If it is not pouring down rain outside he is wanting to be outside fishing. Fishing in the boat or on the dock it doesn't really matter just so long as there is a pole in his hand he is happy. (Notice the mustache he is sporting, it looks a little different than the picture of him from the previous post. It is ok to think it looks bad, we all told him it did.)

vacation 2010

The house is quiet this afternoon as everyone is getting some much needed rest after a week away on vacation. It is always fun to be away and have some fun for a week but I must admit it is always good to come home again. We had a great week playing outside, going swimming, fishing, eating and just being together as a family. Once again there are lots of pictures so I may have to post vacation pictures over the next few days!

Jennifer very excited to be on vacation and in the water! There was only one more time of enjoying the water after these pictures were taken because of some nasty bugs that were in the sand and water. Bill got the worst of it but Jennifer also got bit up and was itchy.

Jennifer discovered a new love while on vacation, papa's boat! Each evening after supper Jennifer was the first one ready to go out on Papa's boat. She had her new fishing pole but she didn't use it much, she had more fun sitting on everyone's lap and singing songs. It was fun to watch her be so excited about getting to go on the boat. Maybe next year there will be more fishing!
